Poisons/Herbs
Name: Mawseed
Type: Poison
Range: N/A
Appearance: Paks carries Mawseed both in the powdered and liquid form. As a liquid it is called Laudanum, and is a pale whitish color, bordering silver. As a powder it is pure white, and easily soluble. Mawseed is tasteless.
Abilities:Mawseed is a form of opium. It can be used to negate pain, sedate or calm someone down. Paks normally uses it as a sedative, but will frequently utilize it as a painkiller in more serious battles. It can sometimes be used in small doses as a nerve stimulant.
At larger doses it can be used as a paralysis of the heart and spinal cord.
Weakness: At large doses, Mawseed is not very quickly absorbed. When a poisonous dose has been swallowed, emptying the stomach can negate the lethal effects. The leaves of a plant called Combretum Sundaicum can be used to create an antidote. Coma is prevented by giving strong coffee, or other stimulant enemata.
Paks carries 5 senbon coated with Mawseed and 5 powdered doses.

Name: Baneberry
Type: Herb/Medicine
Range: N/A
Appearance: A white liquid, transparent with the consistency of water.
Ability: Can be used to cure snake bites, especially rattlesnakes. Baneberry can also be used as an anti-spasmodic medicine, but it is not known for that quality.
Weakness: None.
Paks carries two senbon coated in Baneberry.

Name: Aconite
Type: Poison
Range: N/A
Appearance: The tincture of aconite is a chestnut brown color and the powdered form is pale brown with very tiny particles as it is heavily ground up. Aconite is odorless, but it can leave a bitter almond-y taste if mixed with water or other lightly flavored liquids.
Ability: Paks uses a tincture of aconite to coat some of her weapons. She also carries around a portion or dried and ground up aconite root, which can be consumed. Symptoms of poisoning are tingling and numbness of tongue and mouth, soon extending over the entire surface of the body; strangling sensation in the throat and difficulty swallowing; sense of sinking and pain in the intestines, nausea soon followed by violent vomiting, labored breathing, irregular and weak pulse, giddiness, staggering, cold extremities and staring eyes.
Aconite can be and usually is lethal.
Weakness: If ingested, the victim could take a dose of digitalis to negate the poison in most cases, if the poison enters the bloodstream only a medical jutsu that specifically counters poisons will be able to help. Keeping the victim warm can sometimes help with the pain. Aconite can only be prepared correctly and used by one who knows poisons very well, it is a very complicated matter.
* Note: One-fiftieth grain of Aconite will kill a sparrow in a few seconds; one-tenth grain a rabbit in five minutes. It is more powerful than prussic acid and acts with tremendous rapidity. One hundredth grain will act locally, so as to produce a well-marked sensation in any part of the body for a whole day.
Paks carries 20 senbon coated in Aconite and five powdered doses.

Name: Cabbage Tree/Worm Bark
Type: Poison
Range: N/A
Appearance: In the dried state it is without odor, and the color of cinnamon. The tincture is a greenish color, and easily reflects light.
Ability: Causes severe delirium and usually fever. The delirium is so severe that the victim looses their sense of equilibrium, reaction time is slowed and vision is distorted. Generally victims are unable to remain standing, and feel as if they are being tipped upside down, and rocked side to side violently. May also cause victim to feel cold or hot.
Paks creates a tincture from the bark, which is stronger than the dried version she also keeps.
Weakness: Has no long lasting effects, isn’t toxic in large amounts. Can be cured with lime juice or castor oil.
Paks carries 10 senbon coated in Cabbage Tree tincture and five dried doses.

Name: Foxglove
Type: Herb/Medicine
Range: N/A
Appearance: A red liquid, and a dark red almost brown powder.
Ability: Foxglove can be used to increase the activity of the heart and causes blood-pressure to rise quickly. A moderate dose will slow the pulse and it can also cause an irregular pulse to become regular. It increases the amount of blood thereby making the heart healthier.
Weakness: Foxglove is liable to accumulate in the system if used over a prolonged period of time, when it accumulates it become poisonous shown by the victim’s pulse becoming irregular, the blood-pressure to lower and intestinal irritation. The constant use of Foxglove will lead to hypertrophy of the heart.
Paks carries two senbon coated in Foxglove and five dried doses.

Name: Hemlock
Type: Poison
Range: N/A
Appearance: A black slippery looking liquid and a pale non-descript colored powder. As a liquid it has a notably bitter taste, but as a powder it has no overt taste.
Ability: Hemlock is a strong sedative, and in sufficient doses acts as a paralyzer to the centers of motion. Large amounts produce paralysis, with loss of speech and respiratory functions are impaired and after awhile they cease altogether ultimately resulting in asphyxia. Hemlock focuses its effects on the motor system, preventing movement but also a loss of sensation.
Weakness: Hemlock has to be used with care as too much is lethal and not enough won’t paralyze. Antidotes are stimulants and tannic acid. When dried Hemlock is virtually useless.
Paks caries 15 senbon coated in Hemlock and five powdered doses.
OOC - Someone told me that I needed to write up the poisons my character has. Those are most of them, I'll work on the rest in a little while. They're all based on real poisons and plants, and it took a lot of research so I hope they're okay.
